The new Program Leader for Children, Youth, and Families will take direction from the Pastor and the Spiritual Formation ministry team, to plan, coordinate, and implement activities with a focus on children, youth, and families.  Examples include participation in worship, community service projects, vacation  Bible school, and special outreach events to name a few.  The Program Leader will assist with publicizing youth/children activities through the use of various media outlets (the bulletin, newsletter, social media, and face-to-face meetings).


To be considered for this role, a college degree with teaching or childcare experience is preferred.  A comparable level of experience is an acceptable substitute for a degree.

 

Qualified candidates will possess Christian education experience; a proven record of relationship-building with youth and parents; a history of professional collaboration and teamwork; a spirit for Christian service; and share the belief that God loves and affirms the identity and value of all people.  Participation and/or membership in a Christian congregation is considered essential to understanding the main pillars of our Christian values.

 

This position contributes to the success of St. Mary’s United Church of Christ by engaging children, youth, and their families in church activities (e.g., worship, Sunday School, VBS, youth group, community projects, etc.) and making church a meaningful part of their lives.
