Music Programs at St. Mary's
Worship is enriched by St. Mary's music programs. We aim to provide meaningful memories thoughout the church year and summer. Anyone is welcome to join if interested in any of the programs mentioned. No music experience is needed, simply a desire to make music for the glory of God.
The Senior Choir sings regularly during church services through out the year.
The choir practices on Wednesday nights and anyone is welcome to raise their voice in song.
A special cantata with additional voices and handbells is offered during Advent.
The bell choir performs throughout the year during the church service. We play a wide variety of handbell songs from traditional hyms to more contempoary works. In addition to the 3 octave handbell choir we have hand chimes as well, adding more dynamics to the music.
Anyone is welcome to join the bell choir if interested. Practice is scheduled after church service in the sanctuary. Stop on by and give it a try, we would love to have anyone who would like to join.
The organ found within St. Mary's UCC is a 1928 Moller pipe organ from Hagerstown, MD. The organ has been in place since 1928. Currently, the organ has eight ranks (or rows) of pipes with a set of chimes which adds brilliance to the worship service. In 2001 the organ had a major overhaul which included the addition of another rank of pipes, the trumpet rank.
The organ plays at many worship services through out the year.
