Children's Activities at St. Mary's

At St. Mary's we believe that not only are the children the future of the congregation, they are currently an important part of the church. There are many activities that children participate in during the church year. Inclusion of the entire family is very important to us.

Kid's Night Out

One night each month the children get together for a kids night out. Some months we have an Adventure Unknown where the kids have no knowledge about the activites that will go on that night.

Some past kids night out have included; Sock hop, reptile presentation, visits to farms, game nights, nature craft night, and many many more.

All children are welcome to come join the fun. Sign up is needed to make sure we have enough crafts and food to go around!

Family Activities

Having a fun night out with the whole family is a great opportunity to get closer to the church community.

Some past events have included; Easter egg hunt, Fall Fest, Advent workship, outdoor picnics, bonfires, hayrides, bowling, snowtubing, and many more fun activities which are great for the whole family.

Children's Chime Choir

We are excited about our children's chime choir. The children are taught how to read basic music and follow music in a group setting. They are taught how to follow a director and count on their own. Once the basics are covered, they are taught how to ring a chime and make wonderful music for church services.

Any child 3rd grade or older with a willingness to learn is encouraged to join. There are multiple sessions throughout the church year.

Anyone interested in participating should contact the office for practice dates and details. Practices are held during church service after Time with the Children twice a month.

Vacation Bible School

For one week every summer the community children come together to join in an exciting adventure while learning about the Bible. The Vacation Bible School includes games, songs, crafts, snack, activities, and story time. Any child from age three (potty trained) until 5th grade is welcome to join in the fun!

This year we took a daring trip into the Congo and learned how we should protect God's planet and creations. The offerings which were collected went to buy worm farmsand other supplies for needy communities in Africa to help in their gardens. The children also made their own worm farms to see just how helpful these worms can be.

Children's Church

Every other week after Time with the Children, children participate in their own sermon and children's activities. These activities and lessons follow the Revised Common Lectionary readings just like the regular worship service.  Children's church is open to any child too old to go to the nursery.

Children's Church is not held on Sundays on which Holy Communion is celebrated.
